Before you register, consider some advice from
recent brides we’ve surveyed.
With time to reflect,
some of them have realized they’d do things differently.
“I actually didn't register for linens. I should have. The price
range is right for wedding gifts and registering is essential since there
is nothing
more useless than some charming lemon yellow towels in your slate gray
bathroom. I know now that I would choose to receive lots of some neutral
towels and
put some away to keep them nice for guests. Also, I'd register for beach
towels or bath sheets because they are so handy. Now that I consider the
possibilities,
it would be great to register for coordinated sheets comforter shams, etc.,
right down to the curtains and dust ruffles, especially at a national chain
that would be accessible on the net.”
- Jeanne V. “My best advice is listen to your mother’s advice when you register.
My favorite things I registered for were probably the comforter, pillows
and sheets on our bed. And my china, too, since I never would have bought
it later.
I wish I’d registered for nice pots and pans.”
- Katie M.
“To be honest, I didn't register for any linens or towels. I already
had plenty and there were other things that were a priority. I guess it
would have been nice to receive some of that as gifts. Linens and towels
are good,
useful gifts and a good price range for a gift.”
- Jessica S.
“I’m so glad I registered for lots of towels – you
can never have too many. Also, I love my king-sized, big fluffy feather
pillows.
I wish I had registered for more sheets and a feather bed/mattress pad.
We want one now, and it's the last thing you want to spend your own money
on.”
- Wendy P.
“It would have been worth the investment to have registered for
higher quality towels. I felt bad about registering for expensive things
(i.e. higher
quality items) but in the end, it would have been nice to have some of
the gifts last longer!”
- Jessica W.
“ I am happy that I registered for high quality Egyptian cotton towels
and sheets – something you may not buy for yourself.”
